Palatine Boys Cross Country Team Philosophy

Last year, I put together a book of my own writing and assorted articles and gave it to everyone on the team.  I called it Running the Pirate Way, and my goal was to capture the values that make our team so special and have allowed us to have such success together.  Since I have only been here five years, the book was mainly a record of how Fred Miller and I have reshaped the boys team.  We of course owe a tremendous debt to previous coaches like Joe Johnson and Ron Theberge and hope that our future teams can uphold the legacy established by the former athletes and coaches.

Fred and I try to keep our rules and philosophy simple, and it can best be expressed like this: we believe in coaching every guy and teaching the characteristics of success.  Each article talks about how we emphasize a specific "value" of success when coaching our team.
