Saturday 10/26/2002 Boys Win Regional over Schaumburg; Girls Place Second to the Saxons

The Palatine boys varsity won its first Regional title since 1987 with a strong team effort.  The boys narrowly defeated MSL division rival Schaumburg by one point, 48-49.  Jorge Calvillo again lead the way with a gutsy run, finishing in 3rd place in a season best time of 15:05.  The P-Ville pack then closed the deal: Tim Larson 9th, Brian Brodeur 10th, Glenn Morris 11th, and Nate McPherson 15th.  Tim Brodeur and John Lancaster added nice depth in 22nd and 29th places, respectively.

The Palatine girls team again gave Schaumburg a great race, but ended up second by two points.  Suzy Turner was the girls top finisher in 2nd place while Stephanie Abram and Amy Laskowske also provided top ten finishes.

The boys and girls will compete next weekend in the Schaumburg sectional at Busse Woods.  Come support the teams as both of them try to punch their tickets to the state finals!  Go Palatine!

Full results of the boys and girls regional and conference meets will be up tomorrow.

The list of top times ever for Palatine boys on our course has been updated with today's times.

We have got to get this kid a date next time.

No, really...He is going to win conference and regional.  We know who got the last laugh!

The P-Ville Pack tries to take a bite out of its prey.  No pun intended.
